Backround

Luterra is named after the Sidereals that wielded the ark during the Chain War and sealed Kazeros. After founding the country, Luterra hid his piece of the Ark here and looked it with two seals: The Eagle Seal, and the Sword Seal. He hid the Sword seal in the capital of Encavia, Morai.

The country continued to be ruled by Luterra's descendents until recently, when king Lionel died. Normally the throne would go to his son, Thirain, but Lionel's brother, Scherrit, seized the throne by claiming that therein is inexperienced and not worthy to become the next king. The last statement was backed up by the fact that Thirain was unable to activate the family sword, Vanquisher, something that was easily done by all other rulers of Luterra. Scherrit claim was also backed up by most of the most influential nobles in the country, either because they really believe Scherrit, or were forced into an alliance with him.

Thirain eventually found evidence that his father was poisoned by Scherrit, but it was not enough to dethrone Scherrit. Instead, he took Vanquisher and fled Castle Luterra and vowed to take back his throne from the usurper by force. Ever since then, the country has been in a civil war, mostly between the pro Thirain forces of the West and the pro Scherrit forces in the East. In addition, Scherrit also entered into a secret alliance with the demon Kharmine, in exchange for helping him find the Ark.
