Skills

There are various Skills available in Lost Ark for the Player character. They depend very much on the choice made in character creation and the class. For all characters available are Trade Skills, which concern all available actions during map exploration, like fishing or mining.

Skills got a requirement level and a cooldown, which means they must reload for a few seconds after use. Lowest requirement Level is 10.

Special Skill Attributes

Some skills of character classes have special attributes that should be taken note of, particularly when it comes to boss battles and Raids. Both of the below are important to consider for Raids, as several of the bosses have instant-death attacks (i.e. Raid Wipes) that can only be stopped by using skills with one or both of the below effects.

• Stagger: In the skill popup window showing its description, most skills will have a line showing Stagger: Low, or similar. The Stagger effect can be rated as Low, Medium or High, and this relates to how quickly the skill will reduce a boss's stability meter to stagger them (similar to the effect of a Whirlwind Grenade).
• Counter: Some attacks from bosses can be Countered, typically ones where the boss glows blue for a couple of seconds first. To counter them you need to hit them with a skill that explicitly says Counter: Yes in its info screen. If Countered, the boss's attack will be stopped and they will be briefly stunned, taking extra damage for a few seconds. Take note of which of the skills of your class can Counter, and plan your builds accordingly.
